T: Can you describe the quality of the service you receive from Teknogon?
T.G.: The products which we obtain for the our markets, that have the most complexity are the display racks. They contain hundreds of different parts and a variety of size and color diversities as well as accessories. You have to accept that the order, production, transport and fixing of such details need complex coordination. Teknogon has been successfully organizing this coordination for many years. .

T: What is the potential and communication quality of the Teknogon team?
T.G.: You have to accept that in reality in a job with this size things may not be as simply realized as planned on the paper. Any negativity effects without your knowledge, problems out of your control, alteration requirements from your customers need a very close communication and you have to respond to those needs promptly. Teknogon team is aware of these two very important subjects and is capable of realizing it with the required sensitivity. In each new project there are many aspects which are exactly the same with the previous one. We are aware that the Teknogon team can face these sometimes boring jobs with the greatest excitement with each new shop. Just like the Tesco Kipa team.

T: What are your thoughts about the product quality, variety and functionality
T.G.: Retail sale is a profession which is based on an exhibiting (offering) format. Of course quality and fresh products, sale, service and similar elements are the necessities of this profession. The exhibition format is on its own a criteron which needs hard work and consumes a lot of time. We should not forget that there is also the display part involved in this job. In this most difficult success determinant in retail sale, functional and the trouble free racks as well as similar equipments are very important. We should not forget that the cashier furniture should also fulfill the purpose.
Just as the safety, coating, and the appearance of racks during the display of the products also a variety in displaying accessories is a very important aspect. It is impossible not to be aware of the production quality, the variety and display functionality that come with Teknogon products. Of course it is possible to talk about the adequacy of each brand in this subject. But I am sure and I have experienced it personally that Teknogon products with stability and convenience in practical applications, can be evaluated as the best qualifications in a very dynamic sector like store keeping.

T: What is your cooperation history with Teknogon? Is there a success story you may want to include?
T.G.: We met with Teknogon company and its products in 1994 at the first hypermarket of Kipa in the Bornova shop. Later on, we had the opportunity to use Teknogon racks, accessories and cashier furniture in new shops, new projects as well as in old shops for renewal and changes. Our second project the Çiğli shop was a completely new excitement for us. The project works were laboring with very dense discussions. At that times, rack projects were drawn in France and the refrigeration system projects were conducted by another company in Turkey. For the rack project the operator, consultants, technical team of Teknogon, in short, all of us were discussing the corridor widths, rack colors, rack heights, weight classes of the products to be displayed on the racks, accessories, labels and hundreds of more details for many days. Changes were forwarded to France and the projects was changed. Finally the works were concluded. The rack fixing started from the east side of the shop and the refrigeration system fixing from the west side. After the two projects were completed and came to life we realized that we made some basic mistake because many changes were done also on the refrigeration system. The last line of the refrigerators and the gondola of the racks came on top of each other. In order to correct this mistake Teknogon re-adjusted all gondola lines which were completed within a reasonable scale and had to fix almost half of the shop again.

Later, we carried out all projects for shops in Balçova, Bodrum, Antalya with Teknogon teams; maybe we were more conscious but the excitement remained the same. The supermarket section of our first shop in Konya has two floors. The racks delivered according to the projects and fixed on the 2nd floor were found to be too high and it was decided that they should be shortened. The job had to be completed at the same night. The job was easy. With a cutting device, all rack pillars could be cut and corrected. We talked to the competed people from Teknogon. But there was a problem we had forgot about or could not see: the backpanels of the racks had also to be shortened and this was not as easy as to shorten the pillars. In fact, it was impossible. It did not seem possible to produce and deliver new racks during one night. The solution came from a friend at Teknogon: the lowest backpanels of the racks had to be removed to be fixed later. The background would have to be placed starting on the top and the problem would be solved that way. That way, the second floor of our shop was ready the next day and products could be placed.


T: What are your reasons to prefer Teknogon and what effect to Teknogon designed products have as added value and profits on your sales and shop image?
T.G.: My knowledge about sales in the shops is very limited. But from a technical point of view, I can say that racks systems, which are the most important and at the same time the most difficult jobs in building a shop, have become easier with Teknogon racks and Teknogon services. We can say that with the P25 design, which has been developed in recent years, displaying became more attractive and more aesthetic.
